Leeds 4-1 Newcastle: Daniel Farke's men cruise to impressive home win - as it happened

Leeds defeated Newcastle 4-1 in a hugely impressive performance to retain their unbeaten Premier League record in front of a delighted Elland Road crowd.

Both sides were unbeaten up until this point this season and came into this match in 10th and 11th, respectively, in the Premier League table with five points each.

Leeds defeated Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on the opening weekend of the Premier League season thanks to Anton Stach's goal, before 1-1 draws with both Brentford and Brighton.

Conversely Newcastle have been impressive given the nature of their departures this summer.

Having lost manager Eddie Howe and star players Sandro Tonali, Bruno Guimarães and Anthony Gordon to Tottenham, Arsenal and Barcelona, respectively, many expected them to struggle.

But under new manager Matthias Jaissle and with a new-look squad, Newcastle impressed, picking up credible draws against Liverpool and Bournemouth and beating Tottenham 2-0.

They scored two goals in each of their first three matches this season but were unable to deliver the same result on Monday night in Leeds.
