In a rematch of last Sunday's Old Firm Premier Sports Cup clash, Celtic will face Rangers again this Sunday - this time in the Scottish Premiership at Celtic Park.

South Africa centre-back Olwethu Makhanya shone for Rangers in their 3-0 win last weekend in Scotland's League Cup quarter-finals. At the other end, Daniel Neil starred with a brace, while Kevin Kelsy scored once and set up one of Neil's goals.

Now, the teams will face off in the Scottish Premiership, where Celtic currently hold a five point lead over their second-placed Glasgow rivals.

Despite a perfect start to the league season with six wins from as many matches, Celtic head into this game off the back of successive defeats. The Bhoys lost 3-1 to Ferencváros in the Europa League on Thursday.

"We're naturally disappointed getting beaten," Celtic manager Martin O'Neill said after the European defeat.

"It's not the start we wanted. We have seven games in which to try and get some points on the board. We really need to concentrate now on Sunday [against Rangers].

"Tonight was a European lesson for us in many aspects. We'll get ourselves together - we'll get ready. We need to re-energise ourselves as much as anything else.

"When we have decent possession of the ball, just don't give it away. But also I think taking a few risks as well too - risks in the proper areas of the field."

Team news

Canada right-back Alistair Johnston has yet to make his return from injury for Celtic, with forward/attacking midfielder Callum Osmand also yet to return from an injury picked up against Falkirk last month.

On-loan left-back Landon Emenalo has yet to feature for the Bhoys as he recovers from an injury picked up in training with Chelsea, while South Korea's Yang Hyun-jun is away at the Asian games.

Meanwhile, Rangers captain Lawrence Shankland is out with a long-term thigh injury. Youssef Chermiti also has yet to return from an ACL injury, while Daisuke Yokota (groin) is another long-term absentee for Derek McInnes' side.

Attacking midfielder/forward Ryan Naderi is a doubt after being on the receiving end of a heavy challenge from Mika Baur last Sunday.
