Vols LB coach William Inge hospitalized for undisclosed reasons

Tennessee assistant coach William Inge has been hospitalized for undisclosed reasons, the school announced Thursday.

"Tennessee linebackers coach William Inge has been in the hospital dealing with a personal medical issue," the statement read. "Coach Inge and his family appreciate your prayers and support, and we ask that you respect their privacy at this time."

Inge is 52 years old.

The Missouri native played defensive line at Iowa from 1993 to 1996. He has coached linebackers at Tennessee since 2024.

Inge's lengthy career has included recent stops at Fresno, Indiana and Washington. He was part of the Huskies staff that beat Texas in the Sugar Bowl playoff semifinal and played for a national championship three years ago.
