Euro 2025: England begin with disappointing loss to France - as it happened

England lost 2-1 to France in their Euro 2025 opener after a limp performance in Zurich.

Marie-Antoinette Katoto and Sandy Baltimore scored first-half goals as Sarina Wiegman suffered her first-ever loss at the Euros. Keira Walsh scored a late goal to raise hopes of a comeback but England struggled to force an equaliser.

Netherlands, who beat debutantes Wales 3-0 earlier on Saturday, top the group after the first round of games ahead of their clash with England on Wednesday in Zurich, while France can book their spot in the knockout stage with a win over Wales in St. Gallen the same evening.
